Are LAX terminals open 24 hours?
Passenger activity occurs at all hours, but access and services vary by terminal and flight schedule. A terminal can be physically accessible while a particular airline counter or TSA checkpoint is not yet processing passengers.

When do airline check-in counters open?
Each airline sets its own counter schedule. For an early departure, the counter often opens a few hours before the first flight, but there is no airport-wide guarantee. Check the airline app or website the day before travel, especially if you must check bags or need in-person document verification.
When do TSA checkpoints open?
Checkpoint schedules vary by terminal and flight demand. Arriving very early does not guarantee that your preferred checkpoint is open. If a checkpoint is closed, signs or airline staff may direct you to another checkpoint with access to the connected post-security terminal network.

Are restaurants and lounges open overnight?
Some flights operate late at night or early in the morning, but most dining, retail, and lounge locations are not open 24 hours. Hours vary by terminal. If you have dietary needs or are traveling overnight, bring an allowed snack and an empty water bottle to fill after security.
Can you sleep at LAX overnight?
Passengers with legitimate travel may sometimes remain in terminal areas, but seating, access, cleaning, and checkpoint closures make LAX an unreliable overnight plan. Rules and access can change. A nearby hotel is usually more comfortable for a long overnight layover.
